On the opening day of the festival, the musicians arrived performed at the concert dedicated to the 160 th anniversary of Khabarovsk.
The Band of the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School named after Marshal of the Soviet Union K. Rokossovsky dates from 1940, the year when and infantry school was founded in Vladivostok.
The Band of the Russian Pacific Fleet was established on May 6, 1860 pursuant to the order issued by the Naval Department. According to the records, the first 51-member orchestra in the Far East of Russia called “brass military choir” was organized in Nikolaevsk-on-Amur to move twelve years later as a “band of eastern ports” to Vladivostok. Since then, for almost 170 years martial music and patriotic songs can be heard on the Pacific coast. The band participated in military ceremonies, military and church parades. Navy bandsmen performed on the streets of the city at public open air celebrations and navy officer’s balls, dancing evenings at the Naval Assembly.
The Band of the Cultural Centre of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation for the Altai Krai was organized in May 1999. At that time, members of the military band of the Barnaul Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots formed the basis of the ensemble. Under the direction of its first conductor, police captain Ivan Pavlovich Sursyakov, the band has become a strong team of proficient musicians who in 2002 toured the entire Altai Krai with a concert program dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior.
The Exemplary Band is the leading music group of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since its establishment in 1965, the military ensemble has provided music for military ceremonies in the capital and across the nation. Members of the band repeatedly performed at high profile events attended by the Head of the State - Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Residents of Khabarovsk enjoyed the performance of the band at the Amur Waves 2017 Festival. The unique-sounding instruments and colourful uniform reflecting the diverse cultures of European clans made the performance unforgettable and very interesting. The band is made up of excellent and proficient musicians of Celtic origin who share love for music, songs, and dances.
