Harmony and strength (military brass bands)
The joint project of the “Amur Waves” Organizing Committee and the Khabarovsk Territorial Museum after N.I. Grodekov to precede the opening of the VII International Military Music Festival.
The Khabarovsk Territorial Museum after N.I. Grodekov on May 15 will open the exposition “Harmony and strength” (military brass bands). The exposition will feature exhibits from the funds of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Moscow) and the Khabarovsk Territorial Museum after N.I. Grodekov. Musical instruments, unique photographs, and exhibits of ceremonial uniforms will tell the history of military music. Visitors to the exposition will see musical instruments that witnessed intense moments relating to the defence of Port Arthur in 1904, WWI, and the Battle of Khalkhin-Gol in 1939.
Musical instruments that participated in the Victory Parade of 1945 and materials dedicated to the composer A.V. Alexandrov, the author of the song “The Holy War” will take a separate place in the exposition.
The exposition telling the history of military music and military musicians’ service will continue to receive visitors after the closure of the VII International Military Music Festival “Amur Waves” till July 15, 2018.
